BIOS WORLD

BIOS WORLD offers 850,000 downloadable resources, processable through our online builder:

1. Factory BIOS: a collection of factory BIOS from all major vendors — no building needed, clean ME by default, guaranteed instant boot after flashing, so you never have to doubt the BIOS again.

2. Original-machine backup BIOS: collected from real working motherboards to maximize laptop repair success rates.

3. Factory/backup graphics VBIOS, EC firmware, USB-C firmware, TBT firmware and more. Fixes no-power, no-charge, unrecognized graphics card, USB-C port failures and similar issues.

4. Schematics and boardviews for motherboards, laptops, graphics cards and other computer equipment. Complete schematic & boardview sets for Apple/Dell/Lenovo/ASUS laptops and more.

5. Repair resources: motherboard power-on sequences, experience sharing, serial-number writing tools, BIOS password unlocking, Apple UMA-conversion BIOS, onboard-memory-disable BIOS, graphics card testing software and more.

Main tools

The four most used tool groups

CPU / PCH swaps, bricked BIOS, broken ME, bad onboard memory, vendor locks: the BIOS problems repair shops meet most.

Intel ME rebuild / quick clean

After a BGA CPU swap, liquid damage or a wrong flash the ME no longer fits: no display, very slow POST, power-off after 30-40 seconds or about 30 minutes. Upload the original dump and rebuild the ME, or quickly clean the ME data.

Universal BIOS unlock, extract and merge

Remove BIOS passwords; extract a programmable BIOS from a vendor .exe update; merge clean vendor data into the original dump (keeping serial numbers); extract EC and other firmware.

Onboard memory tools

Bad onboard memory chips or chips of another size / part: change the memory size and SPD data in the BIOS, disable onboard memory, or turn off channels on AMD.

Dell / HP / Microsoft builds

Vendor-specific locks and layouts: extract and merge Dell BIOS from the vendor package, unlock HP G8-G11 locked BIOS, move the original ME on Microsoft Surface (touch keeps working).

Key feature

The drawing system: schematics, boardviews and silk layouts, online and linked

No viewer software to install. The three kinds of drawing for one board sit together: click a part or net in one, and the other two jump to it.

Schematic

How the circuit is wired: where a signal comes from and goes to

  • Parts / nets list: every part, net, location and pin in the file; search it, click one to step through only the pages where it appears
  • Double-click a reference or net name: copied, and located in the boardview / silk layout
  • Thumbnails for every page; press B to bookmark a page
  • Right-click a word to pin a highlight on every page
  • Pen and sticky notes right on the drawing, saved to your account
  • My notes: note a part or net and mark it bad / OK; repair orders and your own power-on sequences live here too
  • Watermark removal and an eye-care background for long sessions

Boardview

Where each part and test point actually sits on the board

  • Opens the common boardview formats online (.fz, .brd, .tvw, .bdv, .cad, .asc, .bvr, .pcb and others, about twenty)
  • Click a part: selected here and located in the schematic / silk layout
  • Click a pin: the whole net lights up and the schematic searches it
  • Both sides at once, side by side or top / bottom, no flipping back and forth
  • Layer mode for boards with layer data: trace by trace
  • Keyboard: Space flips, R rotates, M mirrors

Silk layout

The reference designators printed on the board, to find parts on the real thing; works with PDFs and photos

PDF and photo silk layouts are no longer a pain: instead of zooming in and hunting by eye, every designator is recognized, so one search or click takes you there.

  • Take a photo of the board with your phone and upload it: within minutes the silkscreen designators are recognized automatically and the photo becomes a clickable, searchable silk layout
  • Multiple pages: several photos or PDF pages of one board (front, back, close-ups) in one window, all covered by the list and search
  • Click a reference mark: selected here and located in the boardview / schematic
  • Type a reference in the search box to search every open file at once
  • My notes written in the schematic or boardview show here too

Shared by all three

Related filesSchematic, boardview, silk layout and BIOS of the same board are grouped automatically and stay linked when opened.
Split viewPut a second file in the same window, side by side or top / bottom, e.g. schematic + boardview.
Notes everywhereA note or a bad / OK mark on a part in the schematic shows in the boardview and silk layout too.
Favorites and recent filesStar a file and open it from My files with one click, on any computer you log in from.
Your own files tooUpload boardviews, schematics or silk layouts from your computer; they open online and link the same way.
Works on phonesPinch to zoom, long-press to locate: read drawings on your phone at the bench.
